I totally have to agree on the lack of attention part, but meh- they're always talking about fun stuff and its always interesting to me.

Also, am I the only one to notice how they keep changing their "formula"? And I swear it gets worse and worse each time...

But they are making lets plays, even if they say they aren't.

They're playing a video game while talking over it and putting the video up online. That's what a lets play is. The fact that they rarely talk about the game that they are playing just shows that they are failing at the basic concept of a lets play.

No, a commentary means that they cannot do nothing but talk about what's on the screen at all times
A Let's Play allows them to branch off and talk about random trivia or stories or conversations or whatever as long as it has something to do with the franchise of the game currently being played.
The Game Grumps  used to do just this, but recently they turned into this hybrid of a video podcast and a Let's Play, but take the positives of neither...
