amys a hedgehog cuz 1.her old look and 2.you know anti amy? well anti amy is amys counterpart and anti amy (Rosy the Rascal) is a hedgehog so amy is 1 to and 3.in the sonic comic Hedgehog Havoc (sonic the hedgehog series) amy is starring in it and if she wasnt then shes not a hedgehog =P

well if you read sonic the comic or/and played sonic cd she was a hedgehog and had the same hair/quill style as sonic did.
