Persona 3 *Spoiler Alert

Okay, I just beat Persona 3 (The journey), and I don't get it. How is Minato the great seal? Why? I mean I get that Aigis had to seal Death inside of him, but I don't see how that was related. Also, in The Answer (I just started playing) said that he supposedly died? Am I missing something? I read the I got the good ending, And the ending only showed up to where he fell asleep on Aigis' lap. Why did he die? If any of these questions are answered in The Answer (FES), Don't Tell me :U
