Idk what the prequels are. Aren't they all in order from start to finish? The only prequel i'm aware of is KOTOR.

Well, it would make less sense if the original trilogy were 1, 2, 3 and the prequels 4, 5, 6.

The prequels weren't planned when the original trilogy came out. Also they weren't called episodes 4, 5, 6 when they first came out, those were added retroactively after the prequel trilogy was announced.

No, Smash. The all have subtitles. I.E. "A New Hope", "Return of the Jedi.", "Attack of the Clones", etc. None of them are actually numbered.
