JPEG is good for some pics. PNG ruins some pics. Liek I uploaded a pic with SSBB font in PNG form and it messed it up. Then when I tried JPEG, it was good.

I think it's because they don't know about PNG and they know more about JPEG!

Although, I understand...everything I create is a PNG. XD

JPG/JPEG images have smaller file sizes compared to PNG, so that's probably why most people do it (either that or it's the default image setting). In my opinion, it's a small price to pay.

Because PNG is too advanced for the common human being.

Seriously, I've used JPG before, but only when I could alter the settings so it would be at 100% quality as PNG. Then I got a new computer with a better hard drive... HELLO PNG! But yeah, like Eli said, smaller sizes are what draw them in and they stick with it for that thinking that quality doesn't matter.

bbecause PNG f*cks up all my spritings, even goatneck, my character i made. JPEG is the way better choice for spriting, but otherwise, i use PNG for sprites that originatyed from GIF, and that's about 1 or two sprites.

Dude PNGs SAVE sprites.

Its 100% EASIER for people to make userbars and all that crud when its a PNG...

PNG eliminates all the crudy unnecessary pixels JPG adds when you use it. It also makes every sprite more ugly when its done in PNGs.

I dont know why people complain, "PNGS MESS EVERYTHING UP". Everything I save is a PNG, and look at ALL my shop things, are they messed up? No, no they arent.

My sprite comic is saved as a PNG, is it messed up? No, no it isnt. In fact, it looks x10 more crisp and clear than those JPG comics people make. Oh yeah, you could say, "OH WELL YOU USE PHOTOSHOP", well it doesnt matter. There was a time BEFORE I had PS, and I used Paint to make sprite comics.

Can't you gaiz save it as a 16 bit png? (Example Gleech's sig) It has a smaller file size too!

My sig is actually and animated GIF. I couldn't get PS to make it look normal, so I figured I'd put it to those settings.

I don't know, I've seen some super quality JPEGs,...
...but I agree, PNG pwns.
