It's not Japanese so it's not anime. This isn't hard people.

Here's what I consider anime. If it meets these criteria, it's anime.

• It is some form of animation (traditional hand drawn, CGI, etc.).
• It is not interactive (meaning no video games).
• It is Japanese in origin (meaning it was animated there, produced there, etc.).

And it has to meet all three.

The ONLY things I can think of that might gray the lines are co-productions between Japan and another country (like France with Ōban Star-Racers) and video game cutscenes, but cutscenes would ONLY be considered anime if, separated from the rest of the video game, they meet those 3 criteria.

It's nothing against cartoons. Cartoons can be just as awesome as anime. But a distinction has to be made.

Yeah, the games aren't anime. The ANIMATED SERIES are anime. Just because there's a game based on something doesn't mean the whole series isn't anime. Dragon Ball has zillions of games, but it's still anime. But those games are not anime. See how it works?
