Dont forget this about Sonic: all those events (Sonic 4 included) was leasing up to Sonic Adventure. The story always said that the gems belonged to an ancient tribe.

I played the demo, the gameplay is fantastic and feels like Devil May Cry.
I'm still butthurt about this "reboot" though...

Yeah, the actual gameplay is great, which I guess is  what really matters, but if this causes the death of the good 'ol Dante, I'm gonna bust some caps.
