So, Nexon announced MapleStory 2.
Most of probably know that weird sidecrolling F2P Chibi Browser RPG... game... fibble.

Today, they finally posted a debut trailer and well

Where'd they get the budget for such a trailer?
Well, turns out MapleStory will ditch most of that, aside from 'Chibi RPG' and instead will be an isometric RPG ala Lineage 2, Diablo 3 and the sorts.

It is unclear if it will be F2P once more.

MapleStory 2 is set to launch sometime in 2014, for those who care.

In 2006, Wizet revealed they earned over US$ 300 million from Maplestory. In Global MapleStory (GMS), more than a million players have bought items in the Cash Shop. In 2006, Nexon announced MapleStory had a combined total of 39 million user accounts worldwide. Maplestory Global has over 8 million users as of 2011.

You underestimate how many people play Nexon RPGs. Even I've given Maple Story and Mabinogi a try.
