Nope. Remake.

Star Fox 64/ Lylat Wars was a remake of Star Fox/Starwing, but it could be considered more of a re-boot, if it weren't for the fact it's only the second game in the series. it set out to re-tell the the first, with many more modern changes, especially in story. As for Star Fox 2, nobody knows why that was cancelled even though it was a finished product.. but many of it's elements were put into SF64, such as all range mode and the Landmaster.
