So, I tried to get out of going to youth group at church.
Why?  I'm not religious.  I'm kinda forced to go cause of my grandmother.  But that's beside the point.

My main problem:
we have a "curriculum" in youth group this year:  soulwinning.
No choice in the matter.
If you're in the youth group, you HAVE to do it, no ifs and or buts.
The thing is, even if I was religious...I'm not the type to go knocking on people's doors, and throwing my religion in their faces.  They have their religion, I'd have mine, if they didn't want to convert, they can go to hell(according to the Christian religion if they choose not to redeem themselves.  just making sure that you know that I'm not using this as the "go to hell" insult), it's their choice.

So by doing this, not only am I putting myself at risk of getting physically and mentally/emotionally harmed (some of these people are psycho.  My grandma had dogs set on her soulwinning group one time, landed one person in the hospital), I'm a hypocrite.
A non religious person throwing a practice of faith into someone else's face.  And I hate being hypocritical.

I tried talking to my mom about it, and she said I was just going to have to deal.
I can't bring this up to my dad, aunt or grandma, because dad would be like "oh well you're going to hell."  and probalby never have anything to do with me again, and I've put on the "goody goody church girl" facade for my aunt and grandma for ten years, so they'd be devastated...
If I try talking to my youth leaders, they're gonna be all like "well, you should come over here and get right with God."  then I'd have to put on even more of a facade...

My friends aren't any help either...
And if I stop going to church all of a sudden, my grandma/aunt would get kinda suspicious.

Moral of the story:
I'm screwed, no matter which way I turn.  A lose-lose situation.

You should come over here, our youth group is pretty laid back at the moment. We arent strict about anything, and the only thing that we're going to be doing is helping out at places and telling them in the end, "Our help is like God's love, there aren't any strings attached." or something like that.

I think if you went to my church, you'd prefer it more, because we're less strict on stuff (or so I hear, I'm not sure what it's like for you.).
