Megaman 10 announced for WiiWare

Mega Man found a new home with the release of Mega Man 9 for WiiWare, and it was apparently so comfortable that he's decided to stay. Nintendo Power is set to reveal Mega Man 10 in its upcoming issue, and has shown off some details from the magazine spread. The game will allow you to choose to play as Mega Man, Proto Man, or a third unannounced playable character. This title will also feature an Easy mode, much to the relief of those who found Mega Man 9 far too punishing. The plot will revolve around finding vaccine to cure berserk robots; try to guess the source of the virus. Finally, one boss has been revealed so far, named Sheep Man, with his Thunder Wool ability. Yes, we're serious.

There's no word on a release date yet, but Mega Man 9 received a pretty positive reception for its return to Mega Man's 8-bit roots. It even featured retro-hideous box art, which Mega Man 10 is taking to heart as well (above). Check out Nintendo Power later this month to read the full story.

I am looking forward to it as well. It looks interesting and I heard that there will be 2-player co-op which is a definite plus. I wanted it to be 16-bit this time around though, but it's no big deal. There is always next time.

It's not bad art, it just doesn't suit Megaman.

Yeah, the crappy MegaMan box arts are a tradition. It's cheezy and awesome.
