Funny story: My first GameCube, a purple one, stopped reading discs. I went to one of the two GameStop stores here in town and traded it in for store credit. They just plugged it in to see if it started, and it did still turn on, it just wouldn't read any discs. I go over to the second GameStop and use the credit to get a used silver one.
