Hey Proto, I got a question...it's about the FREE Nvidia games.

I am confident that my mom owns a computer that has a Nvidia card with NO Steam installed on it while I have a NON-Nvidia computer that has Steam on it. If I installed Steam on her computer and downloaded the Nvidia FREE games...would they be able to be played on any computer if I were to back them up and re-install them on my computer using the "Back-up Steam Games" feature?

And I have a question for you...
Does that backup feature work with free-downloaded games?

Like when Steam offered Portal for free for that little while...
I got it, then had to wipe my computer.
Would I be able to get it back without having to buy it?

Proto_Blaze

if the non nvidia does not have steam on it.. why not install it? lol and since your games go to your account.... any computer that you put your account on should have access to them... thats how most games work... though im not sure about games that are from a promotion. does the other computer that isnt nvidia an ati?

My Non-Nvidia (Intel, lolwut) Computer = Steam + Portal
Mom's Nvidia Computer = NO STEAM

Oh, and Draco, when I hit 'Backup/Restore Steam Games', Portal does come up on the list and I did get it for FREE too...it's just you may need to make sure the re-installer copied into the back-up location AND you may need to manually copy some files over since Steam Back-up/Restore will not do it for you (IE. your SAVE folder I think).

download steam on the steamless computer... download the promotion, then backup and transfer... it only checks before you get the games so once backed up, u should be good

Meh, I'll give you to BOTD (benefit of the doubt) and download them tomorrow on my Mom's computer, I just thought a HL2 engine would be required to run HL2: LC and HL2: DM (but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it). XD
