I add the U in Color/Colour because Color reminds me of Colon, plus Color is just akward to me. It's a matter of personal preferance for me, and I honestly don't care what people think about it.
It's like Grey and Gray.
I say Gray.

Colour - The 'u' gives the sound it's definition.
Favour - same thing. But you know 'favour' and 'Favor' Are different words right?
that means..
Favourite; is the right spelling.
Now, neighbor, is right. but not harbor. :3
anyway, British english isn't dominant because it came first. but it is the original way of spelling things. So that's where we should stay, rather than moving on. jeeez.

oh, and it's indeed like grey and gray. listen carefully and you see the 'e' is important.
