Mario isn't dying. In fact, he's at the height of his game. His last two got a perfect score. Just because retro fags can't deal withe the fact the shift to 3D offers more and can't live without they're goddamn 8-bit doesn't mean the franchise is dying.

I have it. Bowser hasn't softened up in the main games, though. The Mario RPGs are supposed to be funny, and the main series of games kinda works as a counter balance. Besides, when do spin-offs really count? Especially in other franchises?

The Mario RPG's aren't spinoffs.
There is no such thing as a Mario 'Spinoff', aside from games like Luigi's Mansion and SPP.
Contrary to popular belief, Mario has no timeline.

Also, in many Mario games, Bowser accepted his defeats, and praised Mario for keeping a strong rivalry going.

The parts that freaked me out the most is The zelda lullaby and Miyamoto's face...or who ever it was that became bowser. Oh and Princess Peach...shit that was creepy.

But what is Reggie doing to Nintendo? I dont really keep up with the USA guys...just Japan o3o
