I wouldnt call it cruel, as most of it was 'bittersweet' - especially considering the very final scene.
Like, all of them died happy and n' shit

One thing I also like about Sora no Otoshimono is Tomoki...

Like, usually in harem-type anime (dunno about manga) the main character is... completely oblivious about the fact that these women like him or completely oblivious about the fact that they're a huge pervert.

Not Tomoki. He's fully aware that they like him, fully aware that he's a pervert and knows when it's time to be real.
