Youtube friends

Is it just me or is there no way to friend someone on youtube anymore? :U

There is, but it is soooo complicated.

First, you have to go into your Inbox, which is already needlessly complicated.
Second, click on Address Book.
Third, click Add New.
Then type the username of the person you want to "friend" and click Save.

This adds them to your contacts, which is all that remains of the Friend system that worked so perfectly fine before that they felt the need to fix it until it was broken.
