There arent going to be alot of new IP's until the next-gen systems come out / get announced.

They would overshadow the games that come out before the next-gen systems launch. Its a shitty situation for both devs, publishers and gamers.

To blame are Microsoft and Sony for trying to get out a 10 Year Lifecycle of the 360 and PS3.

Square Enix seems to have alot of titles ready for next-gen, just waiting to be announced.
Some of their Teams have been extremely silent.
EA and Ubisoft recently opened lots of job-listings for next-gen titles and Microsoft opened a completely new Studio for a new IP and seems to have Rare working on various next-gen projects.

So really, this is like... the final lap before the finish line. You really want water (games), but you just gotta get through that final lap.

What i think they're gonna do is something similar like with the PS2.
Like, that the PS4 launches in 2014 but they'll keep making PS3 games until 2017.

But if they're gonna wait until 2017 with the PS4... then that'll be one competitor less for Microsoft and Nintendo.
