and saying that shadow can run as fast as sonic without his rockets is saying that he's faster than sonic. his rocket shoes give him some speed. he usually uses them, correct?

Shadow's rockets allow him to go faster than Sonic.
That said, your theory supports my theory that Shadow should be able to run about as fast a sonic
