If someone says you're not ugly, or good at drawing, or whatever, I'd think you'd be happy that you appeal to someone, so you should take that as motivation to get better or something, not render the compliment void.

To be honest, I always believe that they just say it to make the subject feel better.
Really, no one will tell someone he's ugly unless its some random dud he doesnt know.

Even though I said I hate inccinsistencies more than anything, yandere anime/manga/movies/comics is my cathartic fix.
By that I mean, anything that has the protagonist appearing to be a kewl/innocent dood/gal, but then they turn into psychotic twisted beings with no regards for human life, or maybe they always were like that and were just good at hiding it =O.
