Who wants to have it redeemed so it's made slightly less atrocious?

Why bother? I'd rather Sonic Team make a good original Sonic game than try to improve an old one.

No, I'm against remakes of bad games.
But these are Reboots, not remakes. Meaning taking elements from this game and making a new game from the ground up to take it's place in the continuity.

Don't know if anyone said this yet but uhh...
STREET FIGHTER CAME FIRST. NOT MEGAMAN. Besides, stop asking for Megaman and ask for X ffs
And Wolverine is the most well known Marvel character. Of course they would make him the prime representative of that game. And since Ryu is the REAL face of Capcom they would make Wolverine his rival.

Yeah, and Ice Climber is the face of Nintendo...

Sonic 06 already has no place in the continuity since the story never happened.

You're mixing up Remakes and Reboots in your OP though.

A Reboot reboots a franchise (Amazing).
Meaning all that came before is not to be considered and its a fresh start for modern times.

At least most of the times - there are clever reboots like Resident Evil 4.

Because you totally see Mr. Game and Watch on all of Nintendo's products. :P
The reason Wolverine is the face of the Marvel side is because the first game in the series was X-Men vs. Street Fighter...which is the same reason Ryu is the face of the Capcom side. X-Men vs. Street Fighter began the entire "Capcom vs." series.

And no, X is a pussy. No one wants him.

Also if you want to be a cock about it Ghosts 'n Goblins came before Street Fighter.

I was under the impression that a remake was exactly that. Taking the same story, characters, ect and adding small touches here and there. I'm talking about taking the same setting, throwing out characters here and there and writing a completely NEW story.

It'd still be a remake - but also a reimagining.

Like, Sonic Lost World and Sonic 06 in your OP would be Remakes.
Resident Evil (7) would be a reboot.

As for Soul Calibur and MvC- Its a fighting game, they could technically do whatever they want with the Roster.
There's no need to reboot.

I suck at explaining.
Like, Resident Evil 4, DmC Devil May Cry and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow are Reboots - while Resi 4 still is a sequel.

Like...
XCOM Enemy Unknown is a remake. It's technically the same game, but new.
Aliens vs Predator (2000) is a Remake of the Jaguar Title.
Siren: Blood Curse is a remake of Forbidden Siren

Also, no Mega Man is not the face of Capcom. It's Ryu. He really is.
