Okay, guys and gals!
This is where you can admit to any noobish moments during your gaming.
Lame deaths, overlooking an obvious weakness, screen jacking or screen peeking (which I call strategy), cheating, playing with hacks online, whatever!
Feel free to post more than one. Just use more than one post.
Post it here! We can laugh about it, cry if we need to. We won't judge you.
Also, if you don't mind, wrap up your confession with something along the lines of "I am a noob". Again, we won't judge you.

I'll start.


In Sonic 3, Carnival Night Zone Act 2, there is...well, I can't describe it very well, so I'll just show you with the tutorial vid.

It's the barrel that this vid teaches you to pass.
In 10 YEARS OF PLAYING THAT STUPID LEVEL, I COULD NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO PASS THAT FREAKING BARREL!
...until I saw that video. Then I felt pretty stupid.
...I always thought that you had to jump with exactly the right timing....
I AM A NOOB! AND DANG PROUD OF IT!!

Side- note: The title of this topic comes from a friend of mine. Whenever he dies in a stupid manner in a video game (i.e., running headlong into a goomba) he yells, as loud as he can, "GOOMBAS!"

Depressing fact from me.

I didn't beat the original Super Mario Brothers until last year. And even then, I beat it on an emulator using save states.
Then I beat it on the GBA version.
After 5 hours of work.
After having the original game since '97 or '98.
...*sigh*...I fail at SMB...

i beat  super mario bros.3 :super mario island 2 in HALF A YEAR... after cheating by going on the mid-way bored and getting a star, activating it. the running through the massive hordes of enemies to well enough earn ove 30 lives in one stage!!!!I FAIL EPICALLY AT PLAYING FAIIR, BUT WIN AT REPEATING TO CHEAT!!!

I have yet to beat a Megaman game.
The closest that I have come is spending (roughly) 60 hours (using save states) playing Megaman 2.
At least 3 of those hours were spent at one spot in the first Dr. Wily stage on top of a ladder.
To figure out what to do, I asked several friends, who just laughed and refused to help.
I then turned to a walkthrough on YouTube and had to watch the video three times to figure out what he was doing.
I am a MegaNoob.

i am too!! i couldn't beat megaman 9's first level!!! i mean srsly, concrete man?? i couldn't pass the part where you had to jump over the parts, and some enemies were shootin at you!!! i later found out you can use rush (the dog) to jump over that part, but i got hit by a bullet, and fell, we are no different when it comes to megaman.

Yea I also thought you had to jump at the right timing and eventually glitched through the barrel then i figured out on my own and felt really stupid
