There is over 384 effects in the downloader, install the downloader and run it and it will take care of placing them in the effects folder. Just make sure the file location ends up in the effects folder, so they work!

The first one is a background with flames C:
First of all you will need the Smudge tool plugin, google it and you should get in on this paint.net forum.
Get the gradient tool
Pick Black and some other color
For this one im using Black and Blue
Make it sorta like this 

Then go to Distort and choose the smudge tool
Now just sorta use the tool and it should end up something like this
A perfect BG for sigs

I knew that like the first thing when I started Paint.net...it should be no problem, but yah I see your point!
