Putting a first year marcher as leader is the STUPIDEST idea EVER.

Example:
Almost the entire band had to drop today because I went off step and in the wrong direction, and everyone followed, so almost the entire hornline had to do pushups.

ooooh, that sux. Our band only let seniors/juniors lead, and "freshies" were always the back. No exceptions. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. I love marching.

Only juniors/seniors are allowed to be section leaders, and only seniors are to be drum major.

that's just how my sis was. Here juniors can do more (like beingdrum major) mainly because we were a group one band with just barely enough people to compete in cometitions.

Ahh.  Sounds like our band.  We're a AA band.  =\

We're playing a Danny Elfman show, with Spiderman, Tales from the Crypt, This is Halloween, Oogie boogie's song, ice dance, and beetljuice.  I'm excited for it.  x3
