Not "better" in functionality. Besides the newer model may be smaller and all that, but because of this, it is easier to get it damaged by a careless owner. Plus, no matter what they do with the fans, it will overheat faster.

I don't know why people thought PS3 was a rip or over priced, before... Your spending/getting  $250 Descent BlueRay Player   $85 for a HD. $70 Dual Shock 3  $150 For free online service, play music/videos etc, playing games.  Seems pretty fair for me.

I hope this one won't turn out as much epic fail as the Slim PS2...Those systems were horrible, No fans to cool the system ruin it.

My slim PS2 DOES have a fan in it, but it's tiny. It's one of the early slim models and it's been used heavily and still works great after countless hours of use.

On topic; I have a regular PS3 80GB model (upgraded to 250 by me). Looks-wise I prefer it over the slim model, the slim one just doesn't look right to me at all.
