Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 have been announced for the Nintendo DS! The games will be released in Japan in June of 2012. A US release has already been confirmed on Pokemon's American website, but no release date was given. Two new forms of Kyurem were revealed: Black Kyurem and White Kyurem.
EDIT: Fall 2012 release confirmed for North America and Europe.

I saw, I shat brick houses, then I posted this:
QuoteI was just about to post this. No need to say I am surprised. I guess they wanted to give us something we weren't expecting since we were all hyped on Grey. I'd say they succeeded.
I'm a bit dissapointed it's for the standard DS. I would've liked rumors of a pokemon 3DS. Needless to say, I'm still excited though. If this overhauls the game anywhere near the amount platinum did for D&P, I'll be happy. c:
I was expecting it to be on the DS instead of the 3DS. Being on the 3DS could have locked the third game(s) out from interacting with the others easily.

I would expect sequels on the 3DS and them having you trade from DP Pal Park to Black then to the 3DS titles. I don't think Black and White even have Pal Park.

Oh look, more bullshit. Hey, at least it's not a new generation of unoriginal weird looking creatures. Instead, we get two new retarded looking useless legendaries.

Yeah, that too. the 3DS needs a Pokemon RPG right now to do for it what Pokemon has done for every other Nintendo handheld ever.
At least it looks like more of a sequel than a third game. All the third games were barely enough change for the price I was expected to pay..
They aren't new legendaries. They are new forms of Kyurem, like Sky Forme Shaymin.

Nope. Other than Pokemon Rumble Blast there are no 3DS Pokemon games out at the moment. But since we're talking about 3D Pokemon games a new Ranger game would be nice to accompany the new generation. It's been
ages since I played the first one.

Also I'm not sure I like the new trainer and rival designs, then again, I don't think I liked the others at first, either.
I prefer Hilda and Hilbert's character designs...
And what's with Nintendo suddenly caring for the continuity of the Pokemon world? Sure I like the idea of the pokemon games having a continuing story, but I missed out on PKMN Black cause I was waiting for that "3rd gen" installment...

I dunno about SmashFinale, but to me "too much" is the whole "nature of a PKMN" thing, how the same PKMN can have different abilities, that thin line between which PKMN can learn which move naturally or with TM, how instead of status effects lasting for 5 turns, they now last with respect to how tough the opposing PKMN is, berries, battle items, unforgettable HM moves that take up a move spot that I may or may not need which brings back my whole "thin line between which PKMN can learn which move naturally or with TM" thing, evolution conditions outside of just leveling up, poffins, attack priorities when both PKMN have the same speed stats
I could go on...
But no, it doesn't mean I hate PKMN now, it's just a little more technical than I would like it to be...

These have been in the series since gen 1. Gloom evolves into Vileplume with a Leaf Stone. Graveler evolves into Golem via trading. I can see how you would be annoyed if you played the game without looking things up but hardly anyone does that anymore.

You might be able to change Kyurem between its normal form and its Black and White forms whenever you want.
Like jkid said, you could do that with Giratina in Platinum. As well as Shaymin and Deoxys.

It's still Unova so I imagine since this new professor is from a different town that Juniper will remain in B/W's starting town.
I.E., it'll be like Gold/Silver where Little Root had it's own professor but you could still visit Oak and Red.
But here's one. What about N and the former protagonists? Which one do you meet, if either? And are they going to bring back the time capsule shit since B/W are on the same system?
What I'm kinda hoping is that Nintendo pulls something like R/S/E's "Berry Patch" where you can patch Black and White with the added forms and moves so we don't need something special to trade.
All I know is that they better give Lillil a better moveset. If they gave her substitute she'd get banned so fucking quickly. *shot*

The movepool is one reason I like Whimsi over Lilli. Not because of what it looks like. -glare-
Not like Whimi's movepool is the best either, but it at least has moves to cover it's weaknesses.
I mean, ffs, my Whimsi knows Whirlwind, Psychic, Shadow Ball, and Giga Drain. At some point, it knew Taunt and Substitute as well. I'm thinking about re-teaching it those moves.
Am I the only one that thinks Black/White Kyurem looks... I dunno, like its in pain? Those forms don't look comfortable.

Also notice that the Kanto trainers use their Heart Gold and Soul Silver designs. That could kill the theory that Black and White happen before Red and Blue.

Nope, you're totally going to the other regions. =P

But seriously. This game needs Sabrina, Lucy, Cynthia, Caitlin and Flannery. So long as my favorites from each region are in I can be happy. =P

Dude, I'm on a 3DS. It's hard to read that whole article. Anyways, it's nice to see them in a facility, but I would LOVE to travel to all known regions from the GAMES (which means no Orange Islands/Archipelago for n00bs who don't know that's anime exclusive. Idk about the Whirl Islands, but it's probably the same shit).

You can zoom in on the 3DS browser. I'm almost positive of that. If the text is too small to read just do that.
Also the Whirl Islands are where you find Lugia in Pokemon Soul Silver and Heart Gold. Hell, it's even a plot point.

*does't own HG or SS* Also, there's a scroll to move the image to read it. It's hard to move that while reading it, and I know about the zoom. It's not my fault my PC's in heaven. R.I.P. my PC.

Have you even read this topic? This
is a new Pokemon game. Two of them, in fact. If you're talking about the main formula that doesn't need to change. Games like Mario have proven that. This isn't an entirely new region but it has drastically changed to the point where the Gym Leaders and Pokedex aren't even the same anymore. If you're expecting a Generation 6 this one just started last year. There's no reason for it to be tossed out so quickly.
Read the topic before you decide to act like a douchebag.

Not sure if sarcasm but in case it isn't I'll respond to both.
If you're referring to the "Save the Princess" storyline in Mario games you need to get over it. Mario is fine without having some amazing, deep storyline about Mario finding his inner self or whatever the fuck the Japanese story tropes are these days. Mario has proven over time that games can be amazing with little to no story changes at all. Story does not make a game. Gameplay does. Pokemon switches up the story but keeps the same basic formula and that is absolutely fine with myself and it's fans. Besides, it's not like each game is
exactly the same thing and looking back on each main generation game each one has brought something new I and many other people have loved, even if they were very small features.
Super Mario Sunshine may not have provided the most immense change in game play but it wanted to be the sequel to Mario 64 and, in my opinion, it did that just fine. Galaxy offered great new features and game play mechanics while keeping the core cemented at it's roots (Mario 64) and once again, it was a great game for it. Each game in a series doesn't have to be a completely different genre for the franchise to be great. Pokemon does the same thing by adding new elements and other things into each new generation. I don't see what the hell your problem is.

I havent bought a pokemon title ever since i noticed Ruby was the same thing as its sequel and prequel with slight changes.
I love Pokemon n' all, thus i watch gameplay thinking it might change this time around with some spicy new editions aside from a new map & moar pokemon.
But no.
I'm better off playing that again.

Exactly. You only see the surface of a Pokemon game and that's why you aren't getting anything I'm saying. You see that the battles are the same and that the story generally goes: Get starter Pokemon > Beat 8 Leaders > Beat Evil Villain Group > Beat E4 and you'd be right, but that's why I compared Pokemon to Mario earlier, while the general core and idea stay the same each new game offers new abilities, moves, Pokemon, forms, facilities and things to do outside of battle, characters and other such things. Gamefreak chooses to take the core of Pokemon and add to it rather than changing it all together and that's why people still love it. It's similar enough to the old games that the younger players can still have similar experiences to us as kids, but different enough that each new game brings changes and new strategies to the metagame for us older, more hardcore players. As I said before I guess I can see your view and I'm sorry for calling you a douchebag but outside of the plot and obvious turn-based RPG battles Pokemon really does change and get elaborate as the generations pile up. At least you don't run around as a werewolf and beat the shit out of people for 75% of the game.

We need more female profs in Pokémon games to make us male fans happier. Out of the profs, Oak was the best, Elm was ok, Birch was meh at best, and Rowan was lazy. Idk about Juniper, cuz I don't own Black, BUT I WANT IT! IT LOOKS WAVY (Awesome)! But, before I get White 2.
Getting back on topic, though. What intrigues me is that we'll most likely be seeing Hilbert and Hilda (I hate those names) in this game too. I just hope they don't pull a ZXA move on us. I want to meet them both. :c
Here's rooting for Ethan and Leaf as well, though that's probably just a fanboy dream. :U

Wait, so if Bianca makes a return, then what happens to Hilda, Hilbert and F*ckface?
And it looks like you're rival is your friend...again...Whatever happened to the days of Gary Motherf*cking Oak and Silver where you're rival is the biggest douche in the world who you wanted to destroy more than sin itself?

Volume 2 of the Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 strategy guide has Meloetta on the cover. It comes out on November 20. This implies that Meloetta, and by extension probably the movie that Meloetta is in, will be distributed by that date. Since Genesect will be available at launch, this will mean that all 649 Pokemon will be available to US players by November 20. It also means that for ONCE we will have a guide with a COMPLETE POKEDEX in it. Not counting those stand-alone Pokedex books, though I think even those were usually missing some of the unobtainables.
Granted, this is all conjecture on my part, but they have never to my knowledge released a Pokedex book that contained an unobtainable that had not been released yet. It is possible that they could just erase Meloetta and replace it with Genesect on the cover. But it would be weird for there to be an empty space in the Dex, since Meloetta comes before Genesect numerically.
