I like learning Anime from the games but this looks so cool I might watch Naruto Shippuden again.

Either way, it seems to make up in scale and content for that.
I'll be getting this Day 1 on mah 360.

Ok, enough of me being a first class asshat, the game looks as if the story will be great. Graphics look the same but that's not a bad thing since it still looks stunning.

Explain
(Following post is just a quote of a post i made on another site, sorry about the whole expletive deleted thing)There simply are no good things. The Combat is just plain broken, some characters are overpowered. Instant Awakening clearly giving you to edge. Hell, even dodges are useless. And that damn bar only makes jutsu spamming even worse than in UNS2. Entire system has been stupidityfied (i'm sorry, streamlined). The story mode is /barely/ playable since all you'll do is watch cutscenes. Long, barely animated, cutscenes. The long as *expletive deleted* cutscenes are god awful with merely the vs. Sasuke fight being "good". It lacks, you know, /gameplay/.
...That is, if you can even call them cutscenes. Its probably more like the main part of the game with cutgameplay.
Why do i get to walk a pregnant woman for 10 seconds?
Why does this game have flashbacks to things that just happened?
Why is the story-telling so unconsistent, always switching between "normal cutscenes", "cinematic cutscenes", cutscenes where i have to press a to get through and people talking during the fight?
And don't even get me started with the god awful Dynasty Warriors-esque sequences that barely are challenging nor fun.
And lol, i wont even talk about the final chapter- its that bad.
The Roster is just plain wrong, simply reusing characters and stages from past games (which have nothing to do with the setting of the game anymore) with no new animations while some current characters and locations from the franchise are missing. And a fuckton of characters are two or three times in the roster. what the *expletive deleted*?
The Graphics are awful (in comparison with past games) and soundtrack is oh so dull. I dont even think the rerecorded the voice acting for all the characters.
Even Modern Wafare 3 had more effort than this.
... the Menu is pretty though, i'll give it that.
And i also like how there is already a buy DLC option in the online-menu, even though there are none available yet.
This is pure *expletive deleted*. I loved all of CC2's previous work (didnt get Generations) and loved Asuras Wrath and what they're doing with .hack. I've been with this franchise since Ultimate Ninja 2 on the PS2.
This is just plain, flat out, *expletive deleted*.
Even though the Broken Bond was kinda blegh, i wish Ubisoft would do another one. Rise of the Ninja was fantastic. Which reminds me; WHERE is the awesome open-world from UNS1 / RotN?! It was excuseable in UNS2 because... there were things to do at every corner- you didnt simply walk from cutscene to *expletive deleted* cutscene... for 10 meters.
Most people who buy this game are fans of Naruto and just take it as it is. It has enough fanservice to be "good" for your average naruto fan. Hell, the pre-order bonus was to get some of the cast in a Bikini and Naruto in a Son-Goku Costume.
Sounds like Naruto the anime the game.
A shame.

Not only does it have the best storymode a fighting game (to my knowledge) ever had - it also aint a button masher, being deep enough to be a fighting game that can be taken serious. (More than three combos =O)
Platforming, Jutsu Commands, Music from the Show and pst, Zabuza arc is in it, orochimarus experiment ninjas (or w/e) are in Broken Bond...
Please tell me, how /any/ of CC2's Games are better Naruto games, let alone games.

Well, I always loved the Naruto Ultimate Ninja series for not only how the told the canon stories, but more for how much fanservice the game gave to Naruto fans. I'm talking about it's original stories like the Gedo Mark and the whole tournament to have a new rule in Konoha, and even all the tiniest attention to detail in character traits through the exchanges in the optional side missions. It's like each game came with 2 story modes, both being excellently told.
And I like Ultimate Ninja's combat with one button being attack, one button for movement, one button for projectiles and one button for chackra. It made the game fun and free flowing without having the restraints of "WHAT'S MY COMBOS" weighing you down, but at the same time, they left enough depth in the combat system itself for those who are looking for it, this is one of those games that proves that simply having more buttons to press=/=more depth.
The why I love the Ultimate Ninja series soo much is because of how much care and detail is put into every corner of every inch of the game for Naruto fans specifically, and even building a fighting system to allow such a thing. It feels like a Naruto game, which is fantastic.
Rise of the Ninja and Broken Bonds on the other hand feel like fighting games with Naruto paint on it, anyone can do that...
Anyone can do a button masher with a filler story.

Yeah
But not just anyone can make a simple fighting with a HUGE unique meta game of chackra maintenance(as it would be in a real Naruto fight)
Sure, anyone can make filler story, Naruto RPGs are all over the place, but the Ultimate series not only seems to actually keep everyone IN CHARACTER, but they also tell interesting well told filler stories that work BECAUSE they're in the Naruto universe, rather make a neat story and throwing Naruto characters in it.

Budokai Tenkaichi with Naruto Characters?
Ubisofts Naruto games also are more realistic with the whole chakra thing.
You have to do the finger-signs yourself, chakra replenishes itself over time / you have to eat.
They do not charge chakra DBZ-style like in CC2's games in the Show

They dont use hand signs for most of the justu they use, almost as if they've forgotten about it.
And having to do hand signs yourself, to me, was tedious and jst gave me more unnecessary busy work to do. I prefer in NUN where the input to do a jutsu is simple and the character will do the hand signs if the jutsu requires them. By making the act of using jutsu so simple, it allows them to be more situational and diverse to be used intelligently against button mashers.
And to my knowledge, chackra is gathered through concentration and takes awhile to do, whoch translates the act of regaining chackra a tedious unsafe mess as an insentive to not just use it wildly, as it is in the Naruto universe, chakra is a precious resource. Having it regen with every character not only belittles it's importance, it encourages recklessness. And you do eat in NUN, it's used to temporarily boost stats in combat, something I find more useful.
And Naruto charges chackra all the time, espicially before the time skip.
Budokai Tenkaichi with Naruto? Have you played a tenkaichi game ever in your life?
Do a jutsu, guy flies off. Charge. Do a jutsu, guy flies off. Charge.
Jutsu spamming is one of the biggest issue in the Storm Games.
As for Storm 2, when your health is low charge one second longer and get super power that instant kills.
And yes, i know it wasnt that bad in the old Ultimate Ninja Games. But its ultimately (ha) the same game series.
And yes, there is charging in Naruto... but only for Naruto and Sasuke and because they can rely on exterior chakra.
No one else does it. Chakra depletes and its over.

I only have Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (before i played any Naruto Game, actually) and the first thing i thought when i saw Ultimate Ninja Storm was... Budokai Tenkaichi with Naruto characters.
Sounds to me you don't use items... ever. Those items that they give you on the dpad aren't there for the fuck of it, you can really fuck someone up if used correctly, especially with assists. It uttely destroys justu spammers, makes them rage quit against me. Thus I stick with playing locally with my friends who also know howto play the game not retarded.
And awekening? Bah, you lock them down with projectiles and force them to waste thier chackra on substitute if they attempt that shit. Even if they are successful, just jump everywhere, seriously...
You acknowledge this, but just praised chackra regen? At least NUN has the excuse that we have seen chakra charging, and we can assume noone reallyuses it cause it takes time and concentration and leaves yourself wide open, thus impractical in tje heat of battle(which it is unless you've made sure your opponent cannot get to you). Who in Naruto has chackra regen?
Why? Because of the camera?
...you sprint towards him in awakening and bam. projectiles are useless.
Also Itachi & Deidara.
And /everyone/ has chakra that regenerates over time, but they can not charge chakra whenever they want.
This adds... depth. Only use jutsus when you really have to. If the power is gone, its fucking gone. Fighting is the core.
There is no skill evolved in charging. You almost always have enough time to charge.
Again, this is different in Ultimate Ninja (as far i remember). Infact, aside from the deeper combo system they're quite similar aside from the Storm Games.
If dude dahes towards you... just guard...or jump.
Kakashi is the counter lame, makes the scrub Itachi and Diedara players into free wins.
I really need to see the kinda people you fight against, cause you make it soumd like the ability to charge charkra is this godsend ability that's totally safe,
Also, hand to hand combat is the core of naruto ninja battles? Which manga have you been reading?

Wrong.
Heavy Rain, Walking Dead & Asuras Wrath all have gameplay. You still do things.
Wind, all you do is watch. There are only 3 of these cool QTE Battles from UNS2.
It isnt interactive. You watch cutscenes, 30 minutes up to 2 hours.
And its not even like in Final Fantasy 13- The characters hardly move. They're just standing there.
And maybe
maybe you'll have a battle that lasts about 30 seconds because this game is easy even on hardest difficulty.
And yes, there is versus.
But... this is always something that bothered me about reviews and how people judge games in general.
Battlefield 3 for example; Everyone says the Campaign sucks but still gives it over an 8. What?
Thats the
HALF of the game.
While i prefer Ubisofts Games, i still
loved UNS2. I can still pick that up and play it for hours...

Did i mention that you can actually walk as pregnant kushina for 5 meters? Just that she takes about 2 minutes for that one bridge in the middle of Konoha. (Which you also cross in UNS2). You just hit the stick and go right...
Fun.
I bitched about long cutscenes in games where there is only a story mode
This is a fighting game with a story mode in it. Not only that, it's a story mode for Naruto fans, so excuse them for wanting to fullfill the wishes of those who wanted to just walk around with Kushina.

Have fun then. I, for one, do not take a reign of shit blindly simply because i'm a "fan."
Also, you do not walk "around" with Kushina.
You press the analog stick towards the right... for minutes (after like 40 minutes of cutscenes) in a section that usually takes 10 seconds with other characters... and then there is another cutscene for an hour.
It had no relevance with the story. It no relevance with /anything/.
But thank you, i now have something to reference everytime you complain about long cutscenes, QTEs and Bad SP / Good MP.

i think wendle complanes too much about the games he plays
Well in the first place I guess the reason I'm giving NUNS3 so much leeway is cause normally a story mode in a fighting game is normally absent. So just the fact that it's a fighting game with a story mode rather than settling with an arcade mode immediately gets unfair biased support from me, like Blazblue, Persona 4 Arena, etc. So for that, I aspologise.
That aside, I don't have a problem with just having long cutscences, I have a problem with long unskippable cutscences, a hate I festered ever since Kingdom Hearts when I kept losing to the same boss over and over again.
The problem I have with long unskippable cutscenes isn't necessarily because "OMG I WANNA PLAY THE GAME", more so I fear for the "If I die right now, am I gonna have to re-watch ALL of that?"
Also, my memory is fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure when I bitched about RE6, is was probably about how it was "ruining" the survival horror genre, not cutscenes.
And I don't recall ever complaining about MGS4, cause I never played...and now I never will >_<

Yes, you're right. I always burst in excitement when a game has a proper story mode... but here is the thing...
after;
Ultimate Ninja 3
Ultimate Ninja Storm
Rise of the Ninja
The Broken Bond
Ultimate Ninja Storm 2
Tekken 6
DBZ: Burst Limit
Dead or Alive Dimesions
Dead or Aive 5
... we get Storm 3.
You either develop a fun fighting game (which it also fails at) with a fun story mode or you leave it be completely.
Long story short;
You can beat this ~9 hour game in about 45 minutes when you skip all the cutscenes.
From conversing with you, it seems like this story mode has taken on the Visual Novel approach to story telling with 3D models...
Alright, answer me this, is there some sort of traversing involved to do side activities and experience optional fanservice cutscenes that the Naruto Ultimate Ninja series is known for? Is the overall archetecture of how the story mode is made open enough for me to do enough optional sh*t to get some optional non-plot cutscene of Sakura, Hinata and Ino have girl talk or whatever?
Also, you keep mentioning how unfun this game is to play, would you share what changes it made from NUNS2?

No, its like Final Fantasy 13.
You walk from A to B for a minute at most, watch Cutscene. Repeat this for 9 hours.
No Interaction. Nothing. And the locked camera angle from UNS2 is back as well which does not help its design.
Sometimes (by that i mean twice) the A to B Walking suddenly is like Dynasty Warriors... but bad. And it lags.
But where as in FF13 you can freely look around, and still explore the world by looking around and going every branching path- and gameplay / batteling still taking over the majority of the "playtime". There is just nothing.
There are no treasure chests hidden here. There are no bandits trying to ambush you like Rise of the Ninja.
There is no quest like the doll ninjas like in UNS2. You can't buy flowers and give them Hinata like in UNS2.
No Side-Quests like in Rise of the Ninja.
Just...Nothing.
Buuuutttt...
...If you manage to beat the game and revisit the world, there will be some side quests sprinkled around the world. Which unlock new sta- alternate time of day setting of some already existing stages and the survival mode.
I have not beaten it and that final part is only what i've been told.
Why have I not beaten it? Because the final fight is the most awkward thing i ever had to control in a videogame since Sonic 3D Blast- The Genesis Version.
And i'm being dead serious here.
Also, did i mention that almost all characters are simply reused with no changed animations from UNSG and that (most) of the new characters are support-only?
Sooooo you don't know if there are any fanservice optional stuff to do post game? Cause what you described, I actually predicted happening because of how the manga portrayed it, like, its a war, where would they be able to place "Find the computer room to unlock extra costumes" or whatever...
And you still wont talk to me about what makes the fighting unfun for you.

Um
At the Beginning?
At the time they're in the motel?
At the time Naruto hunts Animals in the Show?
At the time Naruto hunts down fake Zetsus in the Show? (Which he doesnt do btw)
And everything is broken. Casualised BS.

Elaborate because to me it sounds like you're just trying to find something to complain about.

Wind, that stuff is present in the game. Their is literally a side mission that involves Ino, Sakura, and Hinata. Gotta beat the game first though.
There is an entire chapter where it is literally just cutscenes. That is Chapter 4.
Kyo, go beat the game already. It aint that hard. Just have ointment on you and you will win.
And sure, they made mistakes with this game but it's not like they cant learn from their mistakes from this game and prevent them in the next one.

Oh good, then for me, it'll make it worthwile to beat the story mode then. Cause it's always for the post game stuff is why I love the NUN series soo much.

But, aren't those "one time" incidents? As in, once you move from that point, you cannot go back? Cause if so, wouldn't it be kinda BS to put side acctivities in areas where once you leave this area it's gone forever? And before you bring it up, yes, I do indeed dislke when JRPGs do it too.
Unless of course there's a chapter select or something...
Everything is broken? How? MvC broken? SSBB broken? Broken in a fun way or an annoying way?
Casualised? Causalised for the worse, or for the better? And how? Did they take away abilities? Did they make charckra dashing use less chackra?
The only thing that is broken is the fighting mechanics because of the infinite combo cancels.

Don't those combo cancels consume chackra?

And the Instant Awakening Issue that comes with it.
And Tobi.
Welltheypatchedtobi.Basically, if you hit first... you won.
You hit, he substitutes.
Combo Cancel.
You hit, he substitutes.
Combo Cancel.
You hit, he substitutes.
Combo Cancel.
You hit, he substitutes.
Combo Cancel
You hit, he ran out of substitues.
You activate Instant Awakening and while we're at it, Combo Cancel while in Instant Awakening, even though he didnt substitute, thus making your combo even longer.
Gamer over, you won. Pro skillz.
Anyhow, back to good fighting games.
Gonna duke it out in some Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur 4.
Do you use the items on the dpad?

They're useless, aside from the paperbomb.
