Yes, yes, YEEEESSSS!!! I was waiting for this!!! Remakes of the generation that I started playing Pokemon is finally coming!!! To be honest, I didn't expect them to come out so soon. Usually, it's the third game before the remakes. Does this mean there'll be no Pokemon Z?

We've only had 2 sets of remakes so far, one set came out before the third game of its generation and the other set came out after its third game. I was sure that they would announce this before Z though, so I'm not surprised. But I am excited. Prepare your trumpets.

It seems that everyone forgets Pokemon Sunday is on Sunday.

I just love that the reveal was a video showing nothing but the box art and the first gameplay footage is 20 seconds of Pokemon models that you could already see in XY.

Then what was the point of showing the small amount of footage earlier today? I feel like Nintendo are treating their fans like idiots. "We're remaking the Hoenn Pokemon games! This is what the box art will look like. No footage, no info, just box art. Okay, bye." "You guys excited to see some footage? Well be sure to watch this hour-long program filled with shit nobody cares about to see 20 seconds of gameplay footage showing nothing interesting at the very end!" It's sad because Nintendo knows they can do stuff like this and people will still get hyped.

These are the guys who had a lot of reporters go crazy for an "special announcement" at last years E3, just to have it be Wii Fit Trainer. And also the guys who shoved off that Cranky Kong can jump at the VGX.

Hoenn seems to be one of the most disliked Pokemon regions. I'm assuming it's because the majority of it is water.

The only Pokemon games I've played are Diamond/Platinum (which I've never actually beaten the Elite Four in) and X so I don't know how they compare to RSE. Although there isn't as much surfing in DPP, it sure as hell is slow and I can only hope it wasn't as slow in RSE where water is everywhere. And I don't know how the contests were in RSE, but I didn't enjoy them in DPP either and I'm glad they got rid of them in later games. And doesn't every Pokemon game have overpowered Pokemon?

I'm not really that interested in Pokemon to be honest. Diamond was the first Pokemon game I ever bought but it didn't interest me enough to beat it. I figured that Pokemon games just aren't for me but then people got me hyped for XY so I bought that. I haven't played it that much since I beat it though. I think I'm just gonna be stuck in an endless cycle of not being interested in Pokemon but buying every other game anyway.

That said, I'm suddenly feeling really nostalgic for the Sinnoh region so I might go back and play Platinum.

Actually, I never had an HM slave in party, I always distributed the HMs amongst the 6 pokemon I decided to stick with.

Ruby and Sapphire had the unfortunate fate of being released right at the time when the Pokemon fad crashed and interest bottomed out before the Gen. I remakes. So a lot of that perceived negative reception is more like "anti-nostalgia" if that's a thing.
