That's also kinda like what they said for Sonic 06 (more along the lines of 'It'll be the jump start that the series needs to get back into full swing', but still...)

Come on, review guys.
You don't have to let go of the past, but loosening your grip a little wouldn't hurt.

What's worse is the fans who do nothing but compare all the Sonic games to the original games.

Because Megaman has returned to the old games (MM9), the reviews seem to have a thing for Mario, Metal Gear Solid is over (at least with Snake as the main character), Halo keeps using the same thing over and over (but I haven't watched any Halo Wars reviews yet), Tetris is old news, and Pong hasn't changed since it's original release.

I have several friends who share that theory.
One of them even goes far enough to say that someone at Sonic Team (who is trying to do the hedgehog in) is in cahoots with the game reviewers so that Sonic dies as quickly as possible.
