yeah it kinda does, but like Sonic chases after Eggman, and Tails chases Metal Sonic, and then in the final level they both fight both bosses.

That would be pretty useless. Knowing Sonic Team and Dimps they'd just make you replay through the same levels, so the only difference in both storylines would be a short cutscene before the game begins.

Sonic Rush was made by Dimps and had two storylines; one for Sonic and one for Blaze. Besides a couple of short text bubbles, they were identical.

Episode 2 is now early in development.
A trailer is to come out soon and we're to expect some new original stages in the upcoming episode.

They kinda plan to do things like what they did in Episode 1 like releasing demos first and see people's feedback.
