The HP is good for what you use it for.
You don't really play a LOT of high-performance games (that I know of) so it should serve your purpose.
Same with the Acer.
It's all really what you want.

How about you try googling the two and doing a comparison?

Does anyone else in the house have a computer that they can pull one tab up on?

From what I got from Walmart's site, the Acer had quite a few negative comments, and had a 4/5 star rating.
The HP had one or two negative comments, and the rating was almost 5/5.  (4.75/5 it looked like)
