Clearly they didnt design this around the original 3DS, otherwise it would've been designed to work with the rest of the system. And considering they're also ignoring the CPP...

But it is designed to work with the rest of the system. Disabling Miiverse was a compromise to make the game run a bit better, and after playing the demo I'd say it was worth it.

And the current theory about the exclusion of the CPP is that they want the IR port to be used for Amiibos instead. It's still dumb that they don't give people the choice, but I doubt it's because they want to exclude old 3DS owners.

Disabling features to make a game run, is not designing around the system.
If it was, there wouldnt be any need to comprimise the systems functions.

Yes it is. It runs on the 3DS, therefore it was designed for the 3DS. It doesn't matter if a few system features are disabled while the game is running.

Yeah, and Battlefield 4 was designed for Xbox 360.

Yes, it was. That game was a buggy mess on every platform.

It was not.

It was designed for PC / Next-Gen and then re-designed for the weaker platforms.
Same thing that is happening here.

Sure, except Smash runs exactly the same on both the 3DS and the New 3DS. Therefore it was designed for the 3DS.

Aside from having to shut down system functions and a lack of compatibility for control options.

Also, the 'Amiibo' explaination is silly, since it could clearly do one or the other. There's no need to reserve the spot.
Also also, we don't know yet if it runs 'exactly the same' on NEW 3DS.

So what? It's still running on the original hardware.

And yes, I also think the Amiibo excuse is silly but this is Nintendo we're talking about.
